As reported by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, public school employees will experience a health insurance premium increase of “50 percent starting next year for most plans” as approved by the Public School Life and Health Insurance Board on Tuesday, August 20.
The most popular plan, the gold plan, is reported to increase from $226.70 to $336 for public school teachers. For state employees, the gold plan for single coverage will increase from $95 to $96 as reported by the Democrat-Gazette. For family coverage the premium will increase to about $423, up from $419.62 this year.
