ASEA Increases Scholarship Award

The Arkansas State Employees Association (ASEA) has increased the size of its annual scholarship awarded to ASEA members and their dependents for the 2014-2015 academic year.

The John F. Motes Scholarship is awarded in honor of the impact that the late John Motes had on the lives of others and for his dedication to the State of Arkansas. Future John F. Motes Scholarship recipients will receive $1000 each towards their college tuition. Previously recipients received $500 each.

“We are proud to say that since its start in 2011; the scholarship has grown and has enabled us to increase the award,” said ASEA Executive Director, Danny James. “Also as tuition costs continue to increase we felt the time was right to do this for our members.”

Applications will be accepted from January 1, 2014 to March 15, 2013. Interested applicants are encouraged to visit to review the scholarship requirements and to download an application. For additional information call ASEA at 501-378-0187.
